Kirigami Papercutting Kirigami is the Japanese name for paper that is folded and cut. Cynthia began papercutting many years ago when she and her six children would cut paper snowflakes as a winter holiday activity. Today she creates ornate one-of-a-kind cuttings for collectors all over the world. Have fun looking at some of her work on this site or visit Cynthia's art blog (www.EmerlyeArts.blogspot.com)where she shows, nearly every day, something she is working on.
There are so many uses for Cynthia's beautiful papercuts. Besides home decor, her papercuts have been used commercially as logos, illustrations, and labels for several small companies. Below is the packaging label for a small New Zealand company that commissioned a papercut to be the main design for their Scottish Oatcakes.
